CONFERENCE DETAILS:
On behalf of the Eric Voegelin Institute, I’m very pleased to announce a faculty-student conference at Louisiana State University on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17: “Politics and the Bible.”
We begin Thursday afternoon at 4:30 pm with a keynote lecture by Clifford Orwin, Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. Author of The Humanity of Thucydides, Dr. Orwin is author as well of numerous articles on political philosophy and is a regular commentator on Canadian politics.
Dr. Orwin’s lecture will be held in 151 W. Howe Russell, the new HSS Humanities Center, on the LSU campus, and a reception will follow. The lecture will be available live via Zoom.
On Friday we will have three sessions, with discussions led by faculty panelists, focusing on different topics related to the conference theme. Panels will begin at 12:30 pm and will conclude at 5:00 pm. Panelists will include Gabrielle Stanton Ray and Albert Samuels. Panels will also be held in 151 W. Howe Russell.
