Biography

Josh Bowman is a post-doctoral fellow with the LSU Department of Political Science and the Eric Voegelin Institute. He completed his PhD at the Catholic University of America in May 2016 with a dissertation entitled, “Arcadian Exile: The Imaginative Tension in Henry David Thoreau’s Political Thought.”

Josh is a previous recipient of the Richard M. Weaver (2011) and Henry Salvatori (2015) Fellowships, the managing editor of ANAMNESIS Journal and the acting executive director of the Ciceronian Society.

Josh’s primary research explores the intersection of religion and imagination with environmental politics and thought. His book, Imagination and Environmental Political Thought: The Aftermath of Thoreau, completed during his postdoctoral years, was published by Lexington Books in March 2018.
