07/07-07/11/2023 | Emily Marcinowski chaired a Paper Symposium on Developmental Cascades at ICIS 2022.

At the International Conference for Infant Studies in Ottawa, Canada, Dr. Marcinowski chaired a symposium entitled “Cascades of Manual Exploration onto Language Outcomes” with Kaityn Contino, Julie Campbell, & Jeffrey Lockman.

The UP lab welcomes Marziyeh Shabani into the lab as a new doctoral student to LSU’s School of Kinesiology. She received a B.S. in Occupational Therapy in 2020 from the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran. Welcome Marziyeh! (August 16, 2023)

Emily Marcinowski (LSU Kinesiology), Katie Cherry (LSU Psychology) and Cynthia DiCarlo (LSU ECEI) participated as panelists for the Behavioral Health Post-Pandemic Webinar Series on Toddler & Child Health. They discussed existing research, trends, and discussed the potential long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on early child development. (October 27, 2022)
Erika Garcia Mora, a graduate student in the UP Lab, was awarded a fellowship to attend the NSF & SACNAS Grant Writing and Peer Review Workshop in Santa Cruz, CA. This workshop teaches grant writing to support excellent students from underrepresented groups in the STEM sciences. Congratulations Erika! (05/18/2022)
