Welcome to Dr. Johari's Lab
Dr. Johari investigates the neural correlates of speech and limb motor control
in young adults, normal aging, and patients with Parkinson's disease. In addition,
he also examines how language processing is grounded in the sensory-motor system that
supports language processing. The lab is equipped with a 64 high-density electroencephalography
(EEG) machine and a 9 MxN high-definition transcranial electrical stimulator. He also
collaborates with neurosurgeon scientists to invasively collect local field potential
and single neuron data associated with speech production during awake brain surgery
in patients with Parkinson's disease and essential tremor.
