Dr. Huang is passionate about unraveling the complexities of the climate system and improving predictions of climate extremes. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, sports, traveling, and connecting with people.

 

     

Harish Uppu is a PhD student who started in fall 2023. He is excited to learn about climate modeling and weather prediction. His research interests include understanding climate variability, tropical monsoons, and the impact of future climate changes and improving numerical weather prediction. Vishal Juneja is a PhD student who started in spring 2025. He is passionate about exploring the physics of the atmosphere and the Earth system. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of hurricanes and other extreme weather events, as well as enhancing numerical and AI-based prediction systems.
