Ph.D. Student Researchers
Ali Karimi Azandariani (2023 Fall - present)
With a background in orthotics and prosthetics and three years of professional experience,
Ali is pursuing a PhD in kinesiology at LSU. His research focuses on patellofemoral
pain, the measurement of muscle mass using advanced imaging techniques like 3D ultrasound
and MRI, and lower extremity biomechanics using motion capture. Outside of academia,
Ali enjoys working out, creating memes, and playing the electric guitar.
Megan Gordon (2024 Fall - present)
I am a PhD student in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Motor Behavior. Originally from England, I came to the U.S. to play Division 1 soccer and developed a deep passion for sports science and biomechanics. My interests lie in optimizing athletic performance and reducing injury risks. I also have a strong love for coaching and aspire to build a career that seamlessly integrates research with practical applications to support individuals to reach their full potential.
Undergraduate Researchers
Irene Kaiser (2024 Fall - present)
I'm a second-year undergrad from Lafayette, LA. I'm double majoring in kinesiology: pre-athletic training and interdisciplinary studies. In my spare time, I like to rock climb and play ultimate frisbee. A fun fact about me is that I studied abroad in Paris, France last summer.
Mika Ndikumana (2024 Fall - present)
My name is Mika Ndikumana, and I am an undergraduate student at Louisiana State University majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Biological Sciences. I joined Dr. Hyun Kim’s lab to gain hands-on research experience and explore how personalized prevention strategies can improve musculoskeletal health. I am passionate about contributing to research that addresses real-world health challenges and developing skills that will support my future career in healthcare.
