Teaching

At LSU, I teach across both the undergraduate (BLA) and graduate (MLA) programs in landscape architecture, with a focus on performance-based design, environmental systems, and interdisciplinary methods. My courses integrate real-world challenges, interdisciplinary methods, and design communication strategies to support research-informed practice.

Graduate Courses (MLA Program)

LARCH 7031 – Water Systems Studio (MLA 2)
A design studio exploring the role of blue and green infrastructure in shaping urban and regional water systems. Students investigate hydrological processes, ecological function, and stormwater strategies through integrated design.

LARCH 7101 – Landscape Representation (MLA 1)
An introductory course focused on analog and digital representational techniques for visualizing landscape processes, systems, and interventions.

Undergraduate Courses (BLA Program)

LARCH 2002 – Landscape Design 2
A foundational studio focused on spatial organization, ecological systems, and site-scale design. Students explore circulation, grading, planting, and design communication.

LARCH 5001 – Landscape Design 5
An advanced studio emphasizing urban infrastructure and systems-based design. Projects often incorporate modeling, infrastructure analysis, and urban-scale planning strategies.

LARCH 5002 – Capstone Studio
The final undergraduate studio where students independently develop, research, and present comprehensive design proposals. Includes desk critiques, public reviews, and peer feedback.

LARCH 4504 – CADscape: Practical Applications of AutoCAD in Landscape Architecture
A technical course designed to build proficiency in AutoCAD workflows for drafting, documentation, and production of professional-quality landscape architecture drawings.
