Matthew N. Jimenez, M.A.

Matthew is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive and Brain Sciences program who started in 2020. He earned a Psychology B.A. from University of California, Davis, where he was a research assistant in the Janata Lab. His primary research interests are in the association between music and memory, measures of musicianship, and individual differences found within musicians.

Lauren A. Schiro, M.A.

Lauren is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive and Brain Sciences program who started
in 2022. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Purdue University (2022) and her M.A.
in Psychology from LSU (2024). Her research interests include understanding cognitive
control, working memory, and attentional regulation, with a particular focus on how
cognitive workload and task demands affect cognition in applied human-performance
contexts.

Bailee C. Smith, M.S.
Bailee is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive and Brain Sciences program, who started in 2025. She earned her B.S. in Psychology (2023) and M.S. in Psychological Sciences (2025) from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Her research explores memory and cognition, particularly how individuals process and recall structured information. She has additional interests in attention and cognitive control.
