1. Biraj presented a talk at the Graduate Research Conference, LSU. Biraj also placed 1st in the Oral presentations category. Excellent work presenting our research on fNIRS and Aphasia.

1. Kayla Williams presented a talk at the 2024 LSU Discover Day. She assisted Dr. Mohapatra on a research program project during Summer 2023 through
the ASPIRE program. (in picture- L to R, Kayla Williams, Dr. Mohaptra, Biraj Bhattarai).
Kayla also placed 2nd in the Oral presentations category. Excellent work representing our lab!
2. Allee Andry received notification about acceptance into the Summer 2024 ASPIRE program and stipend from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to work on a reserach project in the lab. Congrats, Allee!
3. Dr. Mohapatra presented her work on 'Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts Within the US Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Programs' at the CAPCSD 2024 annual convention. Dr. Ranjini Mohan from Texas State University is her collaborator on this research.
3. Kayla Williams defended her honors thesis titled- 'Understanding Social Participation in Aphasia: Surveying Individual Perspectives Across WHO-ICF Domains'. She is the only undergrdaute student in the department to complete a honors thesis this year. Amazing, Kayla!
March
1. Kayla Williams received notification about her acceptance into the AuD program at UT-Dallas. Proud of you, Kayla!
2. Dr. Mohapatra received notification from the Clinical Aphasiology Conference (CAC) that two of her abstracts were selected for presentation at the annual conference in Hawaii in May. One of her papers is a reserach collboration with Dr. Manaswita Dutta at Portland State University. Lab members Allee Andry and Erin Shea also co-authored this abstract.
3. Biraj Bhattarai received notification from the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) about acceptance for research presentation at the annual convention in May on the topic- 'Exploring Cognitive Control in Persons with Aphasia: A Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) Study'

1. Dr. Mohapatra was invited to speak to an enthusiatic group of members of the Stroke Support group at the Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital. Biraj and Kayla also joined to talk about their research projects.

1. Biraj and Dr. Mohapatra received notification of publication of their article titled- 'Navigating recovery: exploring the potential of telerehabilitation via mobile tablets for poststroke communication deficits' in the journal of Evidence-Based Communication Assessment and Intervention.
