CURRENT RESEARCH
1. Social Participation in Aphasia
The Aphasia. Behavior. Communication (ABC) Research Lab at Louisiana State University
is seeking persons with aphasia to participate in an approximately 20-minute survey.
This survey aims to understand the perspectives of people with aphasia regarding their
social involvement and inclusion in daily activities. This information can contribute
to the development of more socially focused
assessments for persons with aphasia and facilitate the development of therapy and
treatment
programs that prioritize social participation.

If you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to reach out to one of
the research
investigators: Bijoyaa Mohapatra (bmohap@lsu.edu) or Kayla Williams (kwil476@lsu.edu).
2. fNIRS and Aphasia
Seeking volunteers (both Aphasia and Healthy Controls) to participate in a research project conducted by the Aphasia.Behavior.Communication research lab that involves assessing cognitive control and brain processes using a neuroimaging technology called the functional near infrared spectroscopy. For more information about the project or to schedule an in-person appointment please contact the investigators: Biraj Bhattarai (bbhatt6@lsu.edu) or Bijoyaa Mohapatra (bmohap@lsu.edu).
3. Executive functioning, Multimodal communication, & Discourse Analysis in Aphasia
In colloboration with other researchers, we are exploring the use of multimodal communication during conversation and discourse in persons with aphasia.
