Multiple DOE-Funded Ph.D. Positions
I am looking to fill multiple fully DOE-funded Ph.D. positions. The preferred candicates for these postions will already have an MS degree and one or more of the following skills:
Relevant Skills
- MD simulations of hydrogen, CO2, and methane hydrates using LAMMPS or GROMACS
- Implementation of GNNs, LLMs in PyTorch
- Virtual/Mixed Reality Code Development using Unity
- Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Chemo-Mechanical (THCM) simulation using opensource numerical simulators
- Triaxial Rock Testing and Core Flooding Experiments
- Strong computer programming skills in Python (and/or C++)
Post-doctoral Researcher Position
One position is available for post-doctoral research in the areas listed above.
Multiple Student Worker Positions Available
Multiple student worker positions available. These positions are part of exciting DOE-funded projects involving storing carbon dioxide and hydrogen in solid hydrates for a greener future climate. These positions are 10 hours per week and at standardized university rates or better depending on experience.
If you are interested, please send me an email with (1) your resume and (2) your official/unofficial transcript.
The related majors include (but are not limited to) computer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, and applied mathematics.
Some of the open positions are summarized below:
1. Assisting with Post-Processing of Molecular Dynamics Simulation Runs:
This position requires Unix Terminal or HPC experience. It will involve assisting with the post-processing of molecular dynamics simulation results. To learn more about this, please check out the videos and pictures available as a supplementary file to our recent publication (https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.jpcb.3c03391).
2. Assisting with Running and Testing Deep Learning Models:
This position requires Unix Terminal or HPC experience. It will involve assisting with running and testing deep learning models. This position is more tailored to Seniors who have taken (or are taking) a deep learning course.
3. Assisting with Virtual/Mixed Reality Code Testing and Development:
This position will involve testing and developing VR/MR codes on Meta Quest 3 headsets. This position is more tailored to students with solid computer programming skills or VR game development skills using Unity.
