Post-Doctoral position

The Moreira lab is a new group at LSU-Baton Rouge that officially started in August 2024 after years of research in Microbial pathogenesis at São Paulo State University.

We seek a talented, motivated, and committed individual interested in being part of this exciting stage. In this position, you can significantly impact science by setting up a new lab and research program at the university while creating a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

Our research focuses on microbe-host interactions and chemical signaling to understand new mechanisms and development of future treatments for bacterial diseases. The postdoc primary responsibilities include performing independent research in molecular microbiology, and working with under- and grad students. Experience in research laboratory routine with distinct projects, proficiency in microbiology methodologies, essential molecular biology assays, high organization skills, and scientific writing. The work will involve independent academic work, leading our group to understand new mechanisms and develop future treatments for bacterial diseases, linked to oncology cases. Responsibilities: develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas.
