American Association of University Professors (AAUP)

Mission Statement

Since its founding in 1915, the AAUP’s purpose is to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good. The LSU chapter seeks to continue that mission and extend it here on the campus of Louisiana’s flagship university.
