Solid State and Inorganic Materials Chemistry
Research in our group focuses on exploring emerging inorganic functional materials, with a particular emphasis on energy applications. We are developing novel synthetic techniques and establishing structure-property correlations within compounds with different dimensionalities. These include heteroanionic materials, polar intermetallic and molecular compounds, and Zintl clusters.
Researchers in the Baranets Lab employ a broad range of solid-state and wet-chemistry synthetic techniques, X-ray and neutron crystallography studies, DFT electronic structure calculations, spectroscopy methods, and the characterization of transport properties.
