Tips from the CDC to safely dispose of vape products:

  • State and local environmental agencies may have places to drop off vape products. Check there first.
  • Turn off device and remove batteries before disposing.
  • Make sure products are in a cool area and stored in a container indicating it is hazardous waste.
  • Put all vapes, cartridges and batteries in a container indicating it is hazardous waste. Do not throw any of these products away.
  • Do not run any products under water or else the water will be contaminated and need to be put in a hazardous waste container.
