My research interests encompass studies of population genetics, hybridization, speciation, biogeography and systematics, mostly in Neotropical birds.

Active projects include

1) The OpenWings Project (openwings.org) – a phylogeny of all bird species from UCE and fossil data

2) A subspecies-level phylogeny of suboscines from UCE data

3) Hybridization of Manacus manakins in Colombia

4) Hybridization between White-faced Ibis and Glossy Ibis

I’m very interested in nocturnal flight calls of migratory birds, but am still trying to formulate research questions.
