Society for Neuroscience Baton Rouge Chapter Annual Meeting 2026

The third annual meeting of the The Society for Neuroscience Baton Rouge Chapter's Neuroscience Symposium was held on April 10, 2026, at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA.

The meeting brought together nearly 200 participants from institutions across Louisiana, reflecting a substantial increase in attendance and engagement compared to previous years. Participation expanded notably, with a marked rise in abstract submissions and broader representation, particularly from New Orleans–based institutions.

The program featured oral presentations and poster sessions by faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate, and undergraduate students, along with a vendor exhibition. The number of abstracts approximately doubled relative to the 2025 meeting, indicating continued growth of the regional neuroscience community. The program can be downloaded here: 2026 Program.

The keynote lecture was delivered by Jeff G. Tasker, Catherine and Hunter Pierson Chair in Neuroscience at Tulane University. His presentation addressed mechanisms of neuromodulatory regulation in stress-related neural circuits.

Awards were given for both the best oral and the best poster presentations. The first-place winners will receive $100, provided by symposium sponsors.
