My research concerns the behavior, biogeography, and molecular systematics of birds,
and involves a combination of field observation and molecular techniques. I am especially
interested in using comparative approaches to study the evolution of behavior, historical
biogeography, and molecular evolution. Much of my research has focused on the behavior
and evolution of parrots, but has also included studies of hummingbirds and toucans,
and my interests in biogeography and behavioral evolution are not taxonomically defined.
